1.

MLF DC, £309

This season sees DC's first foray into board building, but given the quality of this stick you'd think they'd been in the business from day one. The MLF is well suited to spinning and sliding through the fun park as well as twisting through tree runs and blasting down chutes. This is thanks to a poppy wood core, a tip and tail profile that allows you to float through powder rather than sink in it and strips of kevlar and carbon running along the edges, which improve the board's responsiveness, and vibration absorption.

2.

K2 Zero, £470

This isn’t just another all-mountain board that claims to be the best-performing model on the market – it actually delivers on its boasts. That’s thanks to its Harshmellow technology, a vibration-absorption system that dampens the jitters your board gets as it moves, making it stable at the highest of speeds. It’s also super-light and is made using environmentally sound processes.

3.

Santa Cruz The Fusion Trip Out, £289

This freestyle-focused board features Santa Cruz's shock-absorbing Comply sidewalls so your cartilage takes less of a hammering when you're ridding over choppy terrain. The dimpled StrucTurn base means that there's less board in contact with the snow so less friction and bags more speed. And it’s got a tie-dye base graphic. If you don't like tie-dye there's something wrong with you.

4.

Lib Tech Skate Banana, £370

If you put a normal board base down on the ground you'll notice a gap between the centre of the board and the floor. With the Skate Banana it's the opposite. This banana-shaped camber means you’ll suffer less leg ache when you’re riding powder because you don't have to lean back as much as you do on a normal board. What's more, innovative serrated edges make it responsive and grippy on ice and crud and catch free in the park.
