Great race, the mountain bike is rough and gravelly. It's great to get back to the finish. |

The Men's Fitness Rough Track Triathlon is now in its third year and getting bigger all the time, and for 2008 we're proud to welcome adidas Action 3 as our partner. Last year saw more than 700 competitors taking part and we expect significantly more for the 2008 event, which takes place, once again, in the beautiful grounds of Dorney Lake, near Windsor, on 7th September. So whether you're a beginner or an expert, get your name down now for a challenging rough-terrain triathlon unlike any other!
Dorney Lake is the perfect venue for the Rough Track thanks to its clean lake for the swim and miles of grass and gravel tracks for the bike and run legs. It has to be one of the most picturesque places to compete in a triathlon - if you've got the energy to take in the views!
The 2008 course will be the same as the previous year, including an 800m swim, 20k mountain bike and 9k run for the advanced event. If that seems a bit tough, you can always go do the sprint version or enter a team in the relay. There's also a duathlon event for those who don't like to get wet.
If you're a beginner, the Rough Track is a great way to introduce yourself to the sport of triathlon, and if you're a seasoned pro then the Rough Track provides a fun end to your season.
Keep checking the magazine and the website for training schedules and advice on the kit you will need on the day.
The Men's Fitness team will be racing on the day, so sign up now and I'll see you there!
